🎬🌟 MY3 review: Hansika in the Spotlight with her ImpRessive Performance 🎥🎨

The web series “MY3,” featuring Hansika Motwani in the lead role, has debuted on Hotstar. This series is an adaptation of the Korean show “I Am Not A Robot.” “MY3” is currently accessible for streaming in various languages, and let’s delve into what it has to offer.

Story Glimpse:

Adithya Chandrasekhar, portrayed by Mugen Rao, is the Chairman of the Adithya Group Of Companies and lives a solitary life, driven by a profound reason. One day, he discovers the work of scientist Eliyas, played by Shantanu, who has engineered a humanoid robot named MY3. Eliyas developed this robot based on his former girlfriend, Mythri, portrayed by Hansika before they separated due to a significant incident.

Impressed by Eliyas’s creation, Adithya expresses his desire to lease the robot for three months. However, complications arise when the MY3 robot experiences malfunctions, putting Eliyas and his team in a challenging situation. To resolve the issue, Eliyas reaches out to his ex-girlfriend, Mythri, asking her to impersonate the robot.

Technical Aspects:
  • Casting: The series’ protagonist is intricately developed, and Mugen Rao’s portrayal of Adithya, the solitary character, is truly compelling. He skillfully conveys a wide spectrum of emotions, making his performance stand out.
    • Hansika excels in her dual roles as MY3, the robot, and Mythri, infusing the series with heart and soul. Her acting prowess shines through in moments of comedy, frustration, and poignant emotions.
    • The series offers authentic comedic moments while delving into a captivating premise. The core cast, including Shanthnu as the scientist, aptly fits their respective roles. Janani, Sakthi, and Abhishek also deliver commendable performances.
  • Direction: Director Rajesh did a decent job with the series. The potential impact of MY3 could have been even greater if the screenplay had been more engaging and briskly paced. While the concept is intriguing, the screenplay falls short of being consistently gripping. The director invests considerable time in establishing the main characters at the outset, and the story truly gains momentum in the mid-episodes.
  • Music: Ganesh’s background score is well-crafted and effectively complements the series theme.
  • Cinematography: Karthik Muthukumar’s cinematography beautifully aligns with the show’s theme, showcasing impressive production values.
  • Editor: At times, the pacing becomes excessively slow, and the editing could have been more precise. Series like MY3 benefit from sharp editing, which is somewhat lacking here. On a positive note, the Telugu dubbing is well-done, but the lengthy runtime may deter some viewers.
Highlights:
  • Mugen Rao’s portrayal of Adithya is convincing, showcasing a wide range of emotions effectively.
  • Hansika shines in her dual roles as MY3 and Mythri, adding depth and excellence to the series.
  • Some genuinely comedic moments and an intriguing concept make the series engaging.
  • Strong performances by the principal cast, including Shanthnu as the scientist.
  • Fine background score by Ganesh and cinematography by Karthik Muthukumar in line with the show’s theme.
  • High production values contribute to the series’ quality.
Downside:
  • The screenplay lacks consistent gripping elements, and the series feels unnecessarily stretched over nine episodes.
  • Slow pacing and editing issues affect the overall flow of the story.
  • Some illogical scenes and the need for tighter editing to improve the viewing experience.
  • Subplots, like Anish Kuruvilla and PVR Narayanan, aren’t well-integrated into the main plot.
  • The lengthy runtime hampers the series’ impact, despite a few good emotional scenes and decent humor.

Final Verdict: Entertaining, but Overstretched
