Andhra Pradesh minister Ambati Rambabu has issued a stern warning to Tollywood filmmakers, expressing his concerns over films being used to defame the Andhra Pradesh government and its ministers.
Specifically, he pointed out an episode in the recently released film “Bro,” directed by Trivikram, where actor Prudhvi portrayed a character named Shyam Babu that seemingly resembled Ambati. The film included dialogues that took a sly dig at him and the government.
Ambati Rambabu expressed his discontent with such indirect remarks, urging filmmakers to have the courage to make direct political films if they wish to express their views. He questioned why they resort to veiled references when they could mention him directly if they truly stand by their statements.
Moreover, Ambati cautioned writers, directors, producers, and actors about employing such tactics in the future, emphasizing that there would be consequences if they continue to use films as a medium for political agendas.
