Indian-origin Vaibhav Taneja has been appointed as Tesla’s new Chief Financial Officer, taking over from Zachary Kirkhorn, who has decided to step down. Taneja, who currently serves as Chief Accounting Officer, will now hold both positions. Kirkhorn had been Tesla’s finance chief for the past four years, during which the company experienced significant growth and expansion.
Tesla expressed gratitude to Kirkhorn for his contributions, and he will continue to support a seamless transition until the end of the year. In his LinkedIn post, Kirkhorn praised his time at Tesla and the accomplishments achieved during his 13-year tenure. He thanked the hard-working employees and Elon Musk’s leadership, which has been an inspiration to many.
Vaibhav Taneja has been serving as Tesla’s Chief Accounting Officer since March 2019 and as Corporate Controller since May 2018. He previously held positions as Assistant Corporate Controller and served in various finance and accounting roles at SolarCity Corporation before it was acquired by Tesla in 2016.
