As per the police report, the speeding vehicle collided forcefully with the central divider and subsequently crashed into a tree. The impact didn’t end there; the vehicle proceeded to collide with a motorbike on the opposite side of the road. Tragically, the couple riding the motorbike, identified as Prithvi Raj (28) and Priyanka (21) from Odisha, lost their lives instantly. Prithvi Raj worked as a site engineer in a company located in Visakhapatnam.
Regrettably, one of the occupants of the car, Manikumar (25), seated at the rear, also suffered critical injuries and sadly didn’t survive the incident.
Among the six individuals in the car, three managed to escape following the accident. However, two others, who sustained injuries, were transported to KGH Hospital for medical attention. It was reported that the group in the car had consumed alcohol. The car had been en route from Jodugullapalem beach towards Sagar Nagar.
Prior to the accident, a complaint had been filed with the police regarding the unruly behavior of the group. This complaint stated that the group had caused disturbances near the Sagar Nagar arch by breaking liquor bottles and had even snatched a mobile phone from an individual. As the victim was reporting this incident at the Jogullapalem police check post, the authorities were informed about the accident. Accompanying the victim to the accident site, the police successfully identified the involved vehicle, subsequently recovering the victim’s mobile phone from the car. The presence of liquor bottles was also noted within the vehicle.
